SARA MATHEWS

OVERVIEW

Sara’s background in both FMCG commercial and corporate CHRO roles combine to bring a unique understanding of working in both the UK and internationally across multiple sectors. She has deep experience in strategic planning, organisational structures and change management with an ability to apply her executive coaching skills to help achieve specific objectives across individuals and teams.

APPROACH

Believing in a relational style of coaching, Sara creates a safe and confidential space in which to work, helping clients navigate their way to achieving the strategic changes they want to make. She is thoughtful and supportive with a focused approach and deep people ability which helps leaders to develop sustainable solutions whilst building increased awareness, motivation and confidence.

CAREER

Sara’s broad retail experience has most recently been with Tesco as Global Head of Commercial Strategy – People Capability and with the Conservative Party as Chief People Officer tasked with strategic development and implementation of the business plan. She also specialises in Organisational Change, Complex Employee Relations, Talent Planning and Diversity and Inclusion. Her coaching experience includes assignments in retail, politics, finance, information technology, healthcare (NHS) and the charity sector.

QUALIFICATIONS

Sara attended INSEAD Business School’s Executive Development Programme and is an Ashridge-accredited Executive Coach with a Masters in Executive Coaching. She is a Senior Practitioner Coach with the European and Mentoring Coaching Council and also a CIPD Chartered Fellow.

AWARDS

Nominated for the 2017 Institute of Grocery Distribution (IGD) Excellence in learning and development award, Sara won Silver in the 2016 Learning Technologies Awards for the blended programme of work at Tesco, designed to culturally improve how commercial teams worked with suppliers.

PERSONAL

Sara lives in Hertfordshire and likes to be fit and active, regularly running 5K and also practices yoga. She is passionate about culture, will often be seen in art galleries, theatres and museums and is a keen member of her local art group.
