Varda has over 30 years business leadership experience, culminating as the CEO of an international multibillion-dollar business. She serves as a Non-Executive Director and C-suite executive Coach/Mentor.

Her approach is collaborative and aimed at developing and empowering individuals, teams and their organisations to recognise opportunities, maximize their potential and to become ‘future fit’ by providing an authentic and supportive environment allowing transformative thinking. Driven by ‘Person Centred’ approach, Varda asks difficult questions, helping them to explore, self-discover and maximise their potential.

CAREER

Varda Shine is recognised as one of the major powerbrokers in the international jewellery trade, with a career in diamonds, spanning 30 years. As CEO of De Beers Diamond Trading Company (DTC), Varda led the business to deliver record sales and profits. Working across borders, she developed pioneering approaches to collaborating with government partners from Southern Africa to Canada. She has overseen the creation of an international network of public/private joint-venture operations in sensitive and multi-cultural environments, dealing with complex supply chain while delivering on the expectations of major international clients. Varda strives to champion diversity, with a proven track record in developing talent from diverse cultures to the benefit of both businesses and the local communities in which they operate.

COACHING QUALIFICATIONS

Varda is an Ashridge (Hult Business School) accredited coach and has mentored with Merryck & Co. since 2014.

PERSONAL

Varda is married to Chaim. She is a trustee of the Teenage Cancer Trust. Opera, travelling and yoga are her hobbies, but mostly she enjoys friends and family.
